Volley Ball Wrap Up-Isela Garcia and Maria Fuentes
Though the team had a tough time defeating some teams, the Volley Ball girls killed Pioneer and James Lick. Maria Fuentes says,”the games won do not reflect the hard work we put in the season.” The team had a difficult time starting off, with some players that had never played on varsity before. Farther along in their season, they came together and “everyone tried their best”. Alexa Abraham, a senior was crowned team MVP, and anyone who came to watch the games would agree that this blank player deserves the title.
Coming down from their season the players,”all know that [they] worked hard, and realize that [they] aren’t the all the greatest athletes, but that the coach was happy with [them] just trying”. For the underclassmen who will be returning next season, there will be workouts with the coach through the year, and summer practice to get the players ready for next years season. Some players will also be playing other sports at school to stay in shape and cross train. Overall the school is proud of our volleyball team and congrat the ladies on their hard work.

Football Wrap Up
Football Wrap Up-Roger Rose, JC Brown, Anthony Watson
Finishing with a win, the football team ends with a 6-4 record. They started off with an undefeated run, but hit some obstacles in the prime of their season. That did not stop them from getting a winning record for the first time in six years. Though the players accomplished a great season, they know that they could have done better. JC Brown says that, “the season was all right for being a new program with new coaches”. The same response comes from other players such as Roger Rose, who says that the season was, “ok, and not expected”, and Anthony Watson who stated that the season, “had its ups and downs”. Overall the team is glad the season is over, but wish they could have went to the playoffs.
To keep in shape for next season, the returning players will not be resting, they will still continue to keep in shape. The players will be lifting weights second semester, spring ball in May, and summer practice and camps. Armando Olmo, a senior on the team says that, “it was hard to learn the new program, but practices in the summer gave us time to adjust to the changes, and successfully learn the new system”. Even though the seniors won’t be returning to the off-season workouts this year, they want the upcoming players to follow in their place and improve the statistics that they started to rise in this year.
One player on the team, Roger Rose, had such a dynamic season, that he got offers to some colleges. The offers include San Jose State, Portland, and Humboldt State, and are being held for now.
Congratulations to the football team for such an outstanding season.

how to get in shape like a soccer player
I know that there is conditioning for a couple weeks. That they run and do dribbling exercises with the ball...not like basketball with the feet... They do a lot of side to side quickness drills, and ball handling. I know that they work on tossing and throwing the ball in bounds. hmmmm... i forgot the rest thats why im oding the project
volley ball wrap up
i know that the team tried very hard all season. I know that there was some sweet victories against teams with big titles. I know that there was some defeats that left a mark on the players season and might have brought down the mood. I know that there is problems between coach and players. There also might be problems between player player..no names. I know that the team gets a lot of bruises all over their bodies. I know that overall the teams outcome is very hidden in the school because it was not the greatest.
football wrap up
I know that the football team won a couple games and lost a couple games. I know that there was some injuries this season. I know that a couple people on the team didn't make grades last year and were not able to play this year. I know that a couple players on the team are doing better than others and have hit season highs. I know some of the best players, and some of the ones who haven't touched the game ball or even left the sidelines all season. I know that overall the team has done better than previous years. I know that the team is not willing to lose any more games and has a lot of heart. The players are very pumped up this year. hmmm i dont know much else

Sports Update Fall Semester
Starting off a new year, the sports teams at Gunderson have stepped up their game. Coming in with determination and fire, the teams have pulled off many victories so far and have more to come. Though all teams have a lot of work to do, they have shown that they all deserve a spot to be recognized.
Our varsity boys football team, currently at a 3-2 standing point, led by senior captains Armando Olmo, Roger Rose, Anthony Watson, and JC Brown, they have defeated Monte Vista 34-7, Branham 35-7, and Mission San Jose 42-6. Though they met their match at Del Mar 0-26, and Westmont 20-28, they still played hard and are ready to smash on the next team that comes their way. Head Coach Herb Espiritu predicts that his team is going to, “play hard [and] better each week” so that they continue to kill their opponents. He also says that his team needs to “work on consistency.” He also says, “ it’s not over yet.” Upcoming games are Mount Pleasant at home and the big Homecoming game against Leland.
Another sport that is starting to rise at Gunderson is the girls varsity volleyball. Led by seniors, Alexa Abraham, Vicky Avalos, and Head Coach Cali Lopez, they have started to change the pace in their season 2-4. They had a rough start, losing to San Jose (2-3), and Del Mar (0-3), Overfelt (0-3), Yerba Buena (2-3), but have turned the heat up and killed Pioneer (3-0), and James Lick (3-1). Students can’t wait to see what they will do in their upcoming games.
More sports that are less focused at Gunderson, but are still just as significant are Tennis and Cross Country. They have both not had many matches or meets but are hoping to draw more people to come and spectate. The Tennis Team led by coaches Ben Ravey and Ron Gibbons have begaun their season after forfeiting two matches because a coach hadn’t been assigned yet. They did lose to Andrew Hill, Sobrato, Del Mar, and San Jose as a team, but are brushing them off and are ready to move on to the next competition. Even though the team lost, some individuals beat their opponents including Rajdeep Kaur with a 2-2 record. Cross Country victorious conquered both Pioneer and Lincolnin their first meet, and have also won their second. Led by Head Coach PJ Daley, the team only consists of six athletes, but those six are very dedicated and have beat their personal bests each week.
Overall our sports are doing great, but would still like to see more students in attendance. Though some of the sports running out of games, don’t think you missed out on Gunderson’s athletics. Coming up for winter sports are wrestling, basketball, and soccer. All the teams are gearing up for their seasons right now, and can’t wait to start their first game. So grizzlies, show some spirit and cheer for your home teams!

New Idea
I think we should show students the other options besides college like vocational training and stuff like that. We should show that it is just as successful and that there is something out there for every person. Maybe highlight on current seniors and what they are planning on doing and what direction.
